The trailer for Project Almanac shows a scene where the characters are viewing breaking news coverage of a plane crash. The footage used was that of an actual B-52 crash, specifically the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that killed 4 crew members.

Bay says he did not realize it was actual footage and has asked to have it removed from the film at the request of some of the victims family members.

He's been watching too many of his own movies. That's a terrifying crash, and I can't imagine how anybody would think it's fake.

I know. I first came across it while reading about B-52 history while bored one day. I watched the video on YouTube and it gave me chills. The Elmendorf C-17 video is very much the same, although that one thankfully cuts before impact.

Mr. Bay, I have spent COUNTLESS hours on making this animation as lifelike as possible. It might as well be reality. I deserve a raise.

Because I'm an upstanding human being, I had to watch that trailer.

Yeah, remove footage, rework trailer, edit film, everyone's happy I imagine.

I was hesitant to link the video because you're actually seeing 4 people die, plus it's all over YouTube so it's not exactly hard to find.

Sounds like it's all cleared up thankfully.

Sure, he has no idea what footage he is using. Directors are well known for paying very little attention to the movies the make.
